Why We Love It: Despite ridiculously high expectations, “The Hunger Games” managed to live up to the hype, by balancing ass-kicking action (see: Lawrence with a bow-and-arrow) with real emotion. Also, the supporting cast was also terrific, with Woody Harrelson as the washed-up Haymitch Abernathy and Elizabeth Banks as the eccentric Effie Trinket.
