IT’S OFFICIAL: PHILIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN AS PLUTARCH HEAVENSBEE IN CATCHING FIRE! It has been reported that Philip Seymour Hoffman has been offered the role of Plutarch for the 2nd installment of The Hunger Games, Catching Fire. And now, it has been officially announced, that he has signed on for the role! Most fans had positive reaction when it was first reported that he might be playing Plutarch, so we suppose, a lot of tributes will be delighted with this news! Moreover, Hoffman is already known to be a great actor so we know he will do a great job! Hoffman is known for being in different critically-acclaimed films like Moneyball, Synecdoche,New York, Doubt, The Savages and more. He is not known to be in big budget films but he appeared in Mission Impossible 3. He won multiple acting awards including an Academy Award for his portrayal of Truman Capote. He is also an accomplished stage actor and director.  Plutarch Heavensbee is the Head Gamemaker of the 75th Hunger Games and (SPOILER) those who have read the book know that Plutarch has a greater role than being just a Head Gamemaker.
